The email killer and 4 things not to miss Tuesday morning

Check out the full Web Summit schedule so as not to miss anything.

It’s all kicking off across our 21 standalone summits. With so many incredible talks to hear, people to see and startups to meet, we’d hate for you to miss out on something you shouldn’t.

We’ve got your back.

Check out our guide to Tuesday morning – the CEO of one of this year’s most talked-about companies, a former Premier League star and a woman known as the Supernova…

Louis Saha – Founder – Axis Stars

From sports star to tech star – Centre Stage – 9.45am

“Of all the centre-forwards we employed… Saha would be one of the best. He posed a perpetual threat.” That’s Alex Ferguson on Louis – praise indeed. He’s being joined by former NFL great Tiki Barber and three-time Heineken Cup and Six Nations-winner Jamie Heaslip for a talk on moving from the sporting arena to the boardroom.

Stewart Butterfield – Co-Founder & CEO – Slack

The email killer? – Centre Stage – 10.05am

Stewart’s going to be speaking about Slack, an internal messaging service for companies, and whether it can kill email. We can’t wait – we’re big fans of Slack here in Web Summit HQ.

Emily O’Reilly – European Ombudsman – EU

Why the EU matters to tech – Society Stage – 10.40am

Emily was appointed by the European Parliament to investigate the EU on everything from irregularities to abuses of power. At a time of great euroscepticism, she’ll be talking about why the global tech community should pay close attention to the EU.

Natalia Vodianova – Co-Founder – Elbi

Centre Stage – Challenging misconceptions – 10.50am

Natalia is known as the Supernova – she’s a philanthropist and supermodel who’s fronted major campaigns for Calvin Klein, Givenchy and Stella McCartney and has featured on 69 Vogue covers. She’ll be talking about Elbi: a startup she co-founded that makes it easier for people to donate to charities.

EU migrants, technology and what it means to be free – Society Stage – 11am

Paula Schwarz – Founder – Startup Boat.

In the face of a vast arrival of migrants and refugees, our speakers explore how the tech startup community should lead in networking, mobilising and collaborating to create a positive ecosystem. Join Paula SchwarzChris FabianMike Butcher and Zoe Comyns for this talk.
