Getting to and from Web Summit: Transport information

Web Summit sees people from around the world making their way to Ireland’s capital. Here’s the lowdown on transport for any Dublin newbies.

To the Airport


Aircoach will be departing every 30 minutes from the bus stop outside Main Hall RDS on Merrion Road.

As well as Aircoach, you can get the Web Summit complimentary bus to the airport from outside Simmonscourt Main Entrance. Buses depart at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure to ensure you get the service.

From the Airport


Get the Route 702 Aircoach: Dublin Airport to Greystones/Bray. You’ll be getting out at the fifth stop, the RDS/Bewley’s hotel stop.

From the City Centre

Train (DART)
Morning departure to the RDS

When travelling from Dublin city centre, catch a southbound train from Pearse St., Tara St. or Connolly Station. Get off at the Lansdowne Road Station and walk down Beatty’s Avenue before turning left onto Merrion Road.

Evening departure from the RDS

Dublin city centre can be reached by taking the DART trainFrom Simmonscourt you can follow signs for the Sandymount Dart Station. It’s about a ten-minute walk. From RDS Main Hall you can follow signs for the Landsdowne Road Station. It’s about a ten-minute walk.

Dublin Bus
Morning departure to the RDS

Dublin Bus routes 4 and 7 take you to the RDS. These buses all depart from O’Connell St. and O’Connell Bridge, travelling via Nassau Street and Merrion Square to the RDS. They depart approximately every ten minutes between 7am and 9am each morning. After 9am services depart every 20 minutes.  The journey time to the RDS will be around 20 minutes.  

Evening departure from the RDS – Merrion Road

Dublin Bus routes 4 and 7 will depart from Merrion Road bus stop, outside of the RDS Main Hall on a high-frequency basis between 4pm and 7pm.  

An additional Merrion Square shuttle bus will operate from this area to bring clients to Merrion Square on a non-stop service. A €2 charge will apply for this journey and tickets will be on sale at a kiosk inside the Main Hall and at the bus stop.

Evening departure from the RDS – Simmonscourt Road

The Fáilte Ireland bus service will operate from Simmonscourt providing a non-stop bus service to Merrion Square. This is a free service that will operate between 3pm and 7pm each day of the event.


A taxi rank will be located in the car park area of Simmonscourt that will operate between 2pm and 7pm each day. Don’t forget you can use Uber or Hailo to hail your taxi to and from the RDS.


It’s only a 35 minute walk to the RDS from St. Stephen’s Green. Opt for this route to take in Dublin City as you make your way to Web Summit.
