Getting to and from Web Summit: Need to know transport information

At the beginning of November, Web Summit is coming to Lisbon, and we’re bringing along thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, media and startups with us.

If you’ve never been to Portugal’s capital, don’t fret: here’s all you need to know to get around.

From the airport to Downtown Lisbon

By Metro

The Metro are now selling a Web Summit pass at Lisbon airport until Tuesday November 8 and the main exit to Web Summit in FIL Pavilion 4 from Tuesday. It will cost 25€ and will allow unlimited journeys within the local subway, trains, buses & trams network from November 5 to 13. Please note that the Metro opening hours are 6.30am – 1am.

From the airport follow the red line until São Sebastião exchanging to the Blue line to Baixa-Chiado

At Oriente take the train to Santa Apolónia which connects to the subway Blue line. Or by subway once more follow the red line until São Sebastiao where you can change to the Blue line.

By Bus

From the airport, take the No. 91 Carris bus service to Cais do Sodré Railway Station. Carris bus schedules and further route details are available at carris.transporteslisboa.pt. Aerobus also offers various routes linking the airport to Downtown Lisbon. Aerobus bus schedules and further route details are available at aerobus.pt.

By Taxi

There is a taxi rank located outside arrivals at Lisbon airport.

By Car

If travelling by car from Lisbon airport to Lisbon City Centre, the exit route is the 2a circular.

From Downtown Lisbon to Web Summit

By Metro

Enter the Baixa-Chiado station and take the green line. Get off at the Alameda station. Then take the red line and get off at Oriente Station. Note, you can only buy the Web Summit specific metro tickets at the airport and onsite in FIL when the event opens. Timetables and further route details are available here.

By Bus

Those travelling by bus to the Web Summit venue should travel to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente), which is a 5-minute walk from the venue. There will be additions to the usual bus schedules for Night Summit. Further details are available at carris.transporteslisboa.pt.

By Taxi

Dedicated taxi drop-off and collection points at the Web Summit venue will be in operation on event days.

By Train

Get out at Orient Station (Estação Oriente), which is a 5-minute walk from the venue. Timetables and further route details are available at cp.pt/passageiros/pt.

From the airport, take the red line and get out at the Oriente Station (Estação Oriente). Please note that the €25 Web Summit Metro ticket will only be available at the airport from Saturday until Tuesday and the FIL from Tuesday, not at Oriente Station. By Bus

Bus numbers 705 and 744 leave Lisboa airport regularly and travel to Oriente Station (Estação Oriente), which is a 5-minute walk from the Web Summit venue. Bus schedules and further route details are available at carris.transporteslisboa.pt

By Taxi
