Next stop: the future.

Right here on Centre Stage, Shervin Pishevar of Sherpa Capital and CEO of Hyperloop Rob Lloyd just announced the closing of a $26 million convertible note financing as part of their aggregate $80 million Series B funding.

Just a month ago, Rob took over as CEO at the startup aiming to “commercialise Elon Musk’s vision of 700mph pods hurtling people and goods all over the world through steel tubes“.

Travelling as fast as the speed of sound, Hyperloop will take passengers from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 30 minutes.

“Hyperloop will make the world a village again.

“Dublin has played a big part. I walked the streets of Dublin with Travis some years ago. That’s when he showed me his vision for transportation”, said Shervin.

Sounds like we won’t have to wait too long to see it in action. Rob said three projects will be underway from 2017 and close to completion by 2020.

Rob finished up on stage by offering Bruce the second ticket to the first Hyperloop journey. Bruce is opting for an aisle seat.
