We put our growth from 400 to 20,000 attendees in four years down to data science. It’s helped us become the biggest tech conference in Europe.

This year, our standalone conference Data Summit will hear how other businesses can adopt a data-driven culture.

Here are seven data scientists coming to Dublin to speak at Web Summit:

JP Rangaswami – Chief Data Officer, Deutsche Bank

Previously Chief Scientist at Salesforce, JP joined Deutsche Bank as their first Chief Data Officer in January of this year.

JP is driving Deutsche Bank’s strategies to better understand markets and clients and standardise all processes surrounding data.

Although he describes himself as an “accidental technologist,” JP has a string of awards to his name – he’s made the Wired 100 twice, most recently hitting number 18 in 2010.

Michael Driscoll – Founder & CEO, Metamarkets

Michael is CEO at Metamarkets – an advertising analytics company which has raised over $40 million in funding, most recently a $15 million Series C this February.

Founded by 2010, Metamarkets are the first advertising analytics company to support native ads, according to Michael.

Based in San Francisco, Metamarkets’s platform brings reporting time down to six seconds.

Vitaly Gordon – Director of Data Science, Salesforce

Vitaly has been directing data science at Salesforce for just under a year, having previously led LinkedIn’s data team.

Salesforce announced the rolling out of its new new Service Cloud Intelligence Engine this March, a service aimed at optimising customer service agents’ workloads.

The company also recently announced new service Marketing Cloud, which will allow marketers use data science for more targeted marketing.

JP, Michael and Vitaly will be joined at Web Summit by these other big names in data science:

Michael Conover – Senior Data Scientist, LinkedIn

Neha Narkhede – Co-Founder and Head of Engineering, Confluent

Gabriela de Queiroz – Data Scientist, Sharethrough

Tim Budden – Chief Data Scientist, Datasift
